WPE COMPONENT: POTENTIAL PROBLEM



FileMaker Server <<server ip address>> on <<FMP Server name>> reported the following event:
Mon Jun 11 09:31:18 EDT 2012 FMS WARNING wpe1
Some problems were detected in the WPE COMPONENT: POTENTIAL PROBLEM.

Above warning message is related to FileMaker Web Publishing Engine (WPE).  FileMaker provides following web publishing methods.



In each of these methods, all the requirements mentioned by FileMaker documentation should be followed to avoid issues regarding web publishing of FMP database files hosted by either FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Pro Advanced, FileMaker Server or FileMaker Server Advanced.

In case any of the web publishing feature is used and user faces this issue, it’s not easy to identify the root cause. However below steps can be tried.

·         Uninstall and again install FMP client and/or FMP server involved in FMP web publishing
·         Reconfigure Web Publishing settings through FileMaker Server Admin Console.  
·         Make sure to set appropriate options correctly for each web publishing method.
·         Keep all options disabled for the web publishing method which is not required
·         Stop and restart FileMaker Server services in Services.
·         Restart FileMaker Web Publishing Engine


In case FileMaker web publishing feature is not used and still user faces this issue, below steps can be followed to stop this warning.

·         Reconfigure Web Publishing configurations through FileMaker Server Admin Console.
·         Disable all options of FileMaker web publishing.
·         Make sure Instant Web Publishing, Custom Web Publishing and Static Publishing are off
·         Stop and restart FileMaker Server services in Services.
 
Please suggest if any alternate resolution steps to stop FileMaker WPE component warning messages.
